Boy's Lacrosse

TEAMS

8U & 10U

Our 8U and 10U divisions are considered developmental, with an emphasis on building strong lacrosse fundamentals, teaching players and families about the game, and creating a positive and enjoyable experience for every player.

Players must be at least 5 years old and meet the August 31 birthdate cutoff to participate. Waivers for younger players may be available at the discretion of the York County Lacrosse Association (YCLA).

Games are played 7v7 on a modified field at these age levels.

12U & 14U

Our 12U and 14U divisions combine player development with competitive play. The focus is on continuing to strengthen fundamental skills while expanding players’ understanding of team concepts, field awareness, offensive and defensive strategy, and game situations.

Both divisions are open to new and experienced players. Coaches work to build on each player’s existing lacrosse knowledge while helping prepare athletes for the transition to high school-level lacrosse.

Players in the 14U division may participate regardless of maximum age as long as they are still in 8th grade.

Games are played 10v10 on a full-size field. Our 12U and 14U teams also participate in the YCLA playoffs at the end of the regular season, with playoff placement based on regular-season standings.

Equipment

Players are responsible for providing their required lacrosse equipment, including a boys lacrosse stick, helmet, shoulder pads, arm/elbow pads, gloves, mouthguard, protective cup, and appropriate footwear.

Additional information about required equipment can be found at the link below.

Practices & Games

Practices typically begin in late February or early March and continue through May.

Teams generally practice twice per week in the evenings at Spring Grove-area fields. Specific practice days and times are determined by each team’s coaching staff and will be communicated to families before the start of the season.

Games are typically scheduled on Saturdays and/or Sundays, beginning around mid-March and continuing through mid-May. Teams play both home and away games against other programs throughout the York County area.

Our 12U and 14U teams will participate in YCLA playoffs following the regular season. Teams may also have opportunities to participate in optional tournaments or additional events in late May.
